It is truly a winter delight when this gracefully arching 6-15' shrub bears its pretty creamy-white flowers with their irresistible and far-reaching scent! It is perhaps the most penetrating and delicious of all the winter flowering shrubs and should be planted wear you are able to enjoy its perfume. A very low-maintenance shrub; tolerant of deer, drought and black walnut. S/M
Winter flowers so fragrant they can be smelled many yards away!! Arching semi-deciduous shrub 5-8' – Sun to part shade – drought tolt. but looks best with regular water – Creamy flowers with a powerful honeysuckle scent Jan>March – Easy, undemanding.
The fragrant honeysuckle forms a large shrub (10’). The shrub has deep green foliage all summer. The deciduous shrub will have small white honeysuckle flowers. The fragrance is glorious and can be detected 100 ft. away. Will look like a vine as a young plant, but will make an upright shrub in time.
Lonicera fragrantissima is a very fragrant winter-flowering honeysuckle shrub best placed where you will walk past it in winter and early spring. Our large specimen at the nursery begins blooming with small, white flowers in January and continues through March. Makes a lovely cut flower for a winter vase. Underplant with hellebores and allow a few Clematis to grow up through its branches to add colour later in the season.

The smell is truly DIVINE and at a time when you can't imagine anything blooming. Wonderful for forcing branches inside. Good for hedges or the shrub border. Lovely for fragrance. Great to bring in a few branches in Winter and force for early indoor blooms and to perfume the house.

Extraordinarily fragrant, the small creamy white blooms of this old-fashioned, tough, no nonsense shrub emit a powerfully sweet lemony scent, often perfuming a large area. Creating a bushy, arching form 6’-8’ tall & wide, it’s usually used as an informal screen or hedge or background plant, as it’s nothing special when not in bloom. Appearing before the foliage in January & February, the dangling white flowers don’t mind snow, & budded cut branches can be brought indoors in a vase. Extremely tough, hardy & long-lived, “Winter Honeysuckle” is drought tolerant but looks best in rich, loamy soil with Summer water. Bluish-green oval foliage remains till fall and is evergreen in warm climates. Prune to shape after 3 or 4 years. Good loamy soil is best. Due to Agricultural Restrictions we cannot ship this plant to Tennessee or Virginia. *We advise caution when planting near woodlands in the Eastern States.
