    Impatiens omeiana is a broadleaf deciduous perennial groundcover with green, purple and variegated foliage. In fall and summer apricot, orange and yellow flowers emerge. Grows well with mostly sun - shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something humidity tolerant.

    From China's Mt. Omei, where it grows among rhododendrons and tiarellas, comes this lovely perennial impatiens. The foliage is dark velvety green with a wide, whitish stripe down the centre. The yellow flowers occur in early fall though this is mainly a foliage plant. I. omeiana is stoloniferous, and when happy, will make delightful patches in a moist spot in the woodland garden.
