    Ilex verticillata 'Winter Gold' is a broadleaf deciduous shrub with green foliage. In spring white flowers emerge followed by orange, pink and yellow fruit. Grows well with sun and regular water. Does well in rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something for erosion control, pollution tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

    Alone or combined with its equally bright sibling 'Winter Red', this dazzling, compact 6-8' shrub makes an outstanding fall-winter display with its abundant, long-lasting salmon-orange fruits. This shrub is greatly enjoyed by birds and flower arrangers! Female winterberries need a male pollinator to produce their fruit, 'Southern Gentleman' is recommended.     A branch sport of winter red fruit is yellowish tinged with pinkish orange, a good grower and free fruiting (I wrote this last year and am just too lazy to rewrite it in keeping with the sex among the ilex theme).
