Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One inch rosy-pink ?bells? festooning the branches touch this lovely 30-40' native tree with magic just as the leaves start to appear in spring. S-PSh/M
Medium sized deciduous tree with a pyramidal form. Soft pink bell like flowers show up in the spring before the green foliage. This is a selection from Arnold Arboretum.
AKA, H. monticola or H. carolina 'Arnold Pink', depends on where you look! We've elected to go with Arnold Arboretum at Harvard since they introduced the plant and U. of CT who uses this nomenclature as well as explaining that most pink-flowered Halesia forms seem to be derived from ssp. monticola. This hard to find pink form of our East Coast Carolina Silverbell is a delight to behold. Zone 4 per Ohio State University but according to U.of CT may not like the hotter end of it's zone as well as the white form. It features rose-pink buds that open to 0.75" long pale pink blooms which fade to white.

This choice form of Mountain Silverbell has soft pink, bell-shaped flowers in midspring. They line the stems of a broad rounded tree that branches low to the ground. The yellowish-green foliage turns shades of yellow in fall. Shade tolerant.
