We thought F. 'Blue Shadow' superseded F.' Blue Mist'. F. 'Blue Shadow' appeared several years ago and most people stopped growing F. 'Blue Mist'. We however noticed that F. 'Blue Mist' is a much better blue foliage plant for shade. Our plants are 2'x 3' and have lovely blue foliage all summer.
A treasure in spring with its honey-scented, white bottle-brush flowers which make their appearance on the bare branches before the attractive blue-green foliage that make this shrub a standout in summer. In autumn, this 2-3' mounder shows off again with bright yellow, orange, red and purple colors. This cultivar is a delight year-round; needs afternoon shade in hotter climates. S/M
This small growing dense bush is characterized by very fragrant bottlebrush white flowers in late spring followed by leaves with a bluish tint in the summer and lovely varied fall color. Zone 5.
Selected for its attractive blue leaves and its compact habit. Slower growing but very desirable because of its foliage color.
