Certainly much taller then wide whatever the age. That said avoid planting it in an confined area. Our old tree in the garden is 25-30 feet tall and about 6-8 feet wide at the base. A stunning form when properly placed. Spring leaves are red, bronzing as they mature. New growth is often red during summer months. Fall colors are gold-orange-red. Photo shows winter form.
