Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Colocasia Coal Miner was collected from the Himalayan mountains and is very similar to Illustrius. This form has very dark leaves and green veins. It stays darker with thin green veins. Once grown next to Illustrius, we found that the two plants are very different from one another. One of the most interesting things about Coal Miner is that is has now survived Kentucky's zone 6 winters with light mulch for 5 years now. This plant was first introduced by Tony Avent. Foliage: Dark leaves, green veins Flowers: Green hooded Height: 3 to 5 feet
