Like its more northerly sibling (A. durior), this vigorous (though somewhat smaller) vine is primarily a handsome foliage plant with its woolly heart-shaped leaves, but take the time to find and enjoy the unusual yellow-green flowers too, Aristolochia are larval plants for the pipevine swallowtail butterfly. PSh-Sh/M
This fuzzy version of our native Dutchman's Pipe Vine is similar in many respects. It tends to range farther into the midwest and matures a little smaller. The flowers are more numerous and visible than A. macrophylla and the leaves are somewhat smaller. This is a larval food source for Pipe Vine Swallowtail butterflies!
Unique yellow-green pipe shaped flowers in late spring are the source of many comments. Deciduous vine 15-20 ft.
