Agave petrophila is an evergreen cactus / succulent with green foliage. Grows well with sun - bright shade and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A limestone endemic century plant with abbreviated quill-like, blue-gray leaves dusted pink with drought. Denizens of tiny crevasses and growing only to about 6" in width, a jewel-like addition to the garden or container garden. Excellent drainage with lean soil. Winter drought is also preferred. Frost hardiness only to the low 20s °F. USDA zone 9. Full sun to only slight shade.
