Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This blue gray agave was originally discovered in San Francisco. JC found this agave in the 80's and it was named in his honor.
One of the hardiest clones of Agave parryi tolerating cool wet winters better than others in the species. Big rounded blue "artichoke-y" rosettes to 2ft tall and 3ft are slow to pup, for nice singular rosettes. For full sun to part shade in excellent drainage. Occasional summer water speeds growth, with long dry spells in between. Also great in containers sacrificing a little hardiness compared to in the ground. Adapts well to being indoors in a bright area over winter if desired. USDA zone 7.
Agave parryi ‘J.C. Raulston’ is an evergreen agave that displays low and broad, powdery-blue symmetrical rosettes. The broad ovate leaves are edged with teeth and have a terminal spine. This is an easy care, drought tolerant plant that is great in landscapes and containers or can adapt as a houseplant. Provide a well drained soil away from reflected heat. Once established, water infrequently during the hot season.
Spectacular selection from the J.C. Raulston Arboretum in North Carolina of one of the hardiest Agaves. The makes a 2' high by 3' across dome of blue wedge-shaped leaves. Perfect drainage in a sandy soil - raised bed, top of rock wall. JC would have liked this being named for him.
Blue grey wedge-shaped leaves arranged with exquisite geometry on clumps 2' tall x 3' wide.
