Agave parryi is a slow-growing evergreen cactus / succulent with blue and green foliage. In summer yellow flowers emerge. Features glaucous texture. Grows well with sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.
Agave parryi is a popular garden plant because of its compact rosettes as well as the way its silvery-gray leaves contrast with its black teeth and terminal spines. The stubby, almost flat-topped rosette looks like an artichoke and which is why it is referred to as the Artichoke Agave.
Can be used as an accent in the waterwise landscape or a unique groundcover in mass plantings. Full sun to light shade, well-drained (essential), sandy/gritty soil, tolerates dry soils and drought.
This plant has been grown in a 6 inch pot. You will receive a very similar plant to the one in the picture. The plant is shipped "semi-dry-root" (with some dirt to help protect roots).
