Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The leaves of this open 5-9' shrub are made silvery with pubescence... a nice background for its very fragrant clusters of purple, orange-throated flowers; (B. alternifolia x B. caryopteridifolia) S/M
From its namesake in England, Hever Castle, this buddleia has fragrant, pale purple flowers with orange throats May to frost, blooming on new wood. Rest assured, it is NOT self-seeding. 7'W x 6'T. The foliage is oblong gray-green, and silver beneath: with the pale bloom, an altogether soft coloring.Prune hard after the first frost. Minimum temperature: -10°F
Originating at England's Hever Castle, this fine textured Buddleja is graceful and early to bloom. The gray-green deciduous foliage is small and fuzzy, oblong-shaped and silver on the flip side, inheriting the good looks of its Buddleja alternifolia parent. Laden with dense fragrant sprays that showcase orange-throated mauve flowers, the fast growing arched stems die back in colder climates and can be maintained by a hard pruning just after the first frost in warmer areas.
Originating at 'Hever Castle' in England in 1950, the plant resembles B. alternifolia in foliage; flowers are lavender with an orange throat and are very fragrant, making their appearance in autumn unlike alternifolia, which is a spring bloomer.
Another delicious hybrid with many fine attributes; one being that it appears to be sterile. Others include a small texture with narrow, dusty green, evergreen leaves and the prettiest lavender-blue flowers, fragrant and in great profusion from spring until frost. A shrub to 5-6 ft tall, one of the best behaved at the buddleja party, having originated at Hever Castle in Kent, England. Sun to dappled shade with reasonable water. Frost hardy to USDA zone 7. Also known as B. x pikei 'Hever.'
