Nursery contributed plant descriptions

I first saw this plant at the Rhododendron Species Foundation in Federal Way, WA. I finally joined as a member to be able to buy it. The small 18” plant has very dark green leaves and deep purple under the leaves. If you haven't been to the Foundation, go ASAP, it's wonderful!
Fantastic hybrid from Peter and Ken Cox at Glendoick Nursery in Scotland with purple-red foliage richly colored like a purple smokebush on both sides of the leaves. The deep red-purple flowers are nice but almost incidental compared to the leaves. We saw the mama plant at Glendoick Oct 2013 and it owned its section of the garden.
Everred' is a stunning Rhododendron with small, glossy, burgundy foliage on a slow-growing, semi-compact, mounding shrub. The flowers are dark red bells that look fantastic against the dark leaves. Forms a 3x3 foot mound with time.
Wow!! The new growth on this outstanding Ken Cox hybrid could be the darkest red-purple leafed rhododendron yet. Doesn't bloom often, but when it does the small, bell-shaped flowers are a deep red.
A fantastic new foliage plant from Ken Cox of Glendoick, Scotland. This low-growing and compact plant has leaves that are dark reddish-purple and shiny on both surfaces –stunning. The dark red-purple flowers are rather sparsely produced but quite attractive when they appear. However, nobody is going to grow this outstanding foliage plant for its flowers! Best out of the hottest sun but quite adaptable and striking if placed above a path or upslope or in a similar situation where the leaves can be viewed with the sun shining through.
