Gentiana 'True Blue' is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In fall and summer blue flowers emerge. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in acidic, alkaline, average, rich and well-drained soil.

From hybridizer Darrel Probst, this upright, thoroughly blue gentian has somewhat glossy foliage on sturdy, well-branching stems. Bloom time lasts all the way from mid-July to mid-September. This one is quite easy to grow given moist, average garden soil. 2 feet tall. Minimum temperature: -30?F
This tall gentian produces true, royal blue, two inch long tubular flowers up and down the two foot stems from midsummer to fall. The foliage is smooth, mid-green and lance-shaped.
As the name implies, this hybrid selection from breeder Darrell Probst offers exquisite truely blue 2" tubular flowers from August through October. The blossoms open at the nodes arranged up the 24-30" stems. Plants will form clumps 18" across and would be happiest in a well drained soil.
