Lovely woodlander…loose, arching clumps of thin, grassy leaves that glisten with tiny silver hairs, giving the effect of frost or snow. This ‘Luzu’ is evergreen; expect it to reach 18-24” high and wide. Dove white flowers in May > June are quite showy and last several weeks; prefers moist, part shade locations, but tolerates deep shade and some dryness when established, seems to grow in spite of tree root competition. Underused and underappreciated!
Rosettes of narrow green leaves are covered with showy silver hairs. Pendulous flower spikes of white bloom on narrow 2-foot stems. It's very attractive en masse, thankfully, because it is slowly spreading. Minimum temperature: -10°F Sorry, grasses and sedges cannot be shipped to California.
The drk-green, grass-like leaves (to 12"), edged in long hairs, ; 2' stalks of small, snowy-white flowers in spring, make this tufting, somewhat sprawling peren. a handsome ; undemanding groundcover. Sun-PSh/Med-D
Snowy Wood Rush. I know I get a rush when I see this blooming and have finally quit asking myself "What the hell is that - it can't be a grass" Evergreen leaves support a major bloom event in the grass world (granted, it doesn't take much) with wild heads of white flowers on 2'+ stems.
