To celebrate the news his Aunt and Uncle took us on a wine tasting adventure through Oregon wine country and as a wedding gift assembled a mixed case made from our favorites. That was eleven years ago, a\u00a0return visit was overdue!<!--more--><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145344\/OWCa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8457\" src=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145344\/OWCa.jpg\" alt=\"OWCa\" width=\"911\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145344\/OWCa.jpg 911w, https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145344\/OWCa-266x300.jpg 266w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 911px) 100vw, 911px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our first stop was at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/canasfeast.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cana&#8217;s Feast Winery<\/a>. Since I&#8217;m tree\u00a0ignorant I&#8217;m not positive on the ID, but for the sake of atmosphere I&#8217;m calling those tall, thin, exclamation points Italian Cypress (<a href=\"https:\/\/plantlust.com\/plants\/18786\/cupressus-sempervirens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cupressus sempervirens<\/a>). They certainly set the mood for a winery that describes itself as &#8220;Tuscan-inspired.&#8221;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145344\/OWCb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8458\" src=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145344\/OWCb.jpg\" alt=\"OWCb\" width=\"1024\" height=\"599\" href=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145343\/OWCd.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8460\" <a href=\"https:\/\/kenwrightcellars.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ken Wright Cellars<\/a>\u00a0is located in the old Carlton train station.<br \/>\n<a The ID saga continues as Evan Bean\u00a0points out the cones are a match for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/plantlust.com\/search\/#\/names=Metasequoia%20glyptostroboides\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metasequoia glyptostroboides<\/a>, I have to agree,\u00a0\u00a0it looks like this most likely is\u00a0our tree&#8230;<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145332\/OWCo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8471\" src=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145332\/OWCo.jpg\" alt=\"OWCo\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145332\/OWCo.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/01145332\/OWCo-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t help but pick up a handful of the fallen cones to\u00a0bring home.
