Walking the grounds is always a mix of checking in on old friends, to see how they&#8217;re\u00a0doing,\u00a0and discovering new things. Sometimes I have a pretty good idea what they are, other times I don&#8217;t have a clue.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>For example I&#8217;m smitten with the bright green ground cover in the photo below, does anyone have a guess as to what it might be? (update:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/plantlust.com\/search\/#\/raw=Santolina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Santolina<\/a>, possibly <a href=\"https:\/\/plantlust.com\/plants\/13042\/santolina-rosmarinifolia-lemon-fizz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S. &#8216;Lemon Fizz&#8217;<\/a>)<br \/>\n<a is\u00a0also a great time\u00a0to pick up on combinations that work well.\u00a0I went home after this visit\u00a0trying to think of what plant with chartreuse foliage I could plant near my\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/plantlust.com\/search\/#\/raw=Loropetalum%20chinense\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Loropetalum chinense<\/a>.<br \/>\n<a adding to my want list, for example why aren&#8217;t I growing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/plantlust.com\/plants\/9004\/leonotis-leonurus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leonotis leonurus<\/a>?<br to leave my dried Acanthus flowers in place too, they&#8217;ve got such great structure (mine are <a href=\"https:\/\/plantlust.com\/plants\/6872\/acanthus-mollis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A.\u00a0mollis<\/a>, <del>not sure which these are<\/del> update: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/plantlust.com\/plants\/4288\/acanthus-spinosus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A.\u00a0spinosus<\/a>).<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/d17vsf20mehj1i.cloudfront.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/01145718\/KSWHB103.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" The label under-which I bought mine claims it&#8217;s hardy to USDA Zone 7. Which reminds me,\u00a0there is one more lesson I learn from visiting the Kennedy School gardens.
