Jasmines fall into the I-never-met-a-jasmine-I-didn’t-like category. Funny thing is, I thought I had it all sorted out when it comes to this groovy Jasmine\u00a0Trachelospermum asiaticum ‘Red Top’<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of course, now I’ve got it all confused with a few others, and I’m not certain which\u00a0one I planted where. Such is this gardener’s life. In my defense, it’s okay, isn’t it, when you\u00a0can’t go wrong on any of the cultivars?<\/p>\n

I looked through my plant tags, kicking myself yet again for not\u00a0routinely recording locations,\u00a0but given the\u00a0excess\u00a0of T. a. ‘Red Top’ tags, pretty sure above plant is correctly identified. Alternative opinions always welcome.<\/p>\n

I also found a couple Jasmines in planters–where I’d\u00a0tuck the tag alongside. At some point, though, I’ll pull them from the pot and plant in the ground–and then all bets are off.<\/p>\n

A topic of never ending fascination for us gardeners, right? How to keep track of our treasures. I know some of you are blessed with terrific memories and\/or systems. I honor you, and will never be amongst your ranks. That’s a Saxifraga stolonifera ‘Maroon Beauty’ showing at the bottom. I quite love this little groundcover too, though it is inclined to strew itself about. Okay by me.<\/p>\n

I also love this super bright Trachelopsermum asiaticum ‘Ogon Nishiki’. It’s not been as vigorous as some of the others, but I\u00a0think it’s worth the wait.<\/p>\n

I keep an eye on the\u00a0mature Variegated Jasmine at the Lan Su Chinese Garden, and hope that mine someday\u00a0grow\u00a0this thick and luscious. It could happen.<\/p>\n

I took this\u00a0photo so I’d be\u00a0certain to identify the proper bed when reviewing the master planting list<\/a>. But I kind of like it, just for the photo itself–like big ole piece of jasmine pie.<\/p>\n
