Very valuable for delivering bold color late in the season, these sturdy heleniums (named for Helen of Troy) give us gleaming, deep coppery-red 2” flowers in August and September. The flowers are borne on long stems and make excellent cut flowers. Lovely with late season blues like Delphinium bellamosum, blue Salvias, or the black of Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Black.’ Can tolerate intense heat! (but not dryness). Grows from 3-4’ high & 2’ wide.
