Trident maples are known for their fall color as you can see in this photo. Ningpoense is a semi-dwarf form of the species. The leaves are somewhat smaller, excellent for bonzai. zone 6
The leaves of this very rare form of the Trident Maple are bluer in tone with lobes, where present, that point to the side, rather than tip-ward; a 30-45'tree from the Ningpo (as its name suggests) area of China. S-PSh/M
