Fragrant salmon-pink flowers adorn this Ginger Lily from late summer through fall and the blossoms have an exquisite honeysuckle scent. 'Elizabeth' is a fast-growing plant with long lance-shaped leaves that sends up a flower sheath at the terminal end of the stem. The bloom cluster is 8-12" long and flowers emerge continually over a couple of weeks. Ginger Lily is a rhizomatous perennial. In colder norther zones, the large potted plant may be overwintered indoors or in a greenhouse. You can also store the rhizome in a cool, dry location for winter similar to a canna bulb.

This Tom Wood hybrid is the tallest and most imposing ginger lily we grow, both for size and for flower. Starting in late July, the towering 9' tall stalks of Hedychium 'Elizabeth' are topped with clusters of giant, brilliant reddish-orange flowers. In late afternoon, the exquisite honeysuckle-like fragrance wafts through the garden from its lofty perch...pure poetry.
