The succulent, needle-like leaves and fluorescent purple flowers make this semi-evergreen groundcover a sight to behold. Hot and sunny conditions keep the flowers coming most of the summer. This is a great groundcover for the beach, since it takes the salt as well as any margarita. A single plant can spread to 2' wide in one season. Although quite hardy, it cannot stand excessive winter moisture, either in the soil or applied from above.

Single deep rose pink flowers all summer on shiny, deep green foliage. Ice plants are long-blooming and carefree succulent mat-forming perennials similar to sedums that thrive in heat, drought and nearly any well-drained soil. Very hardy but should be protected from winter wet either with very well drained soil or in the rainshadow of a house or other structure. Great in containers. Deer resistant.

Delosperma cooperi also known as the ice plant is an amazingly hardy ground cover. It has very succulent looking needle shaped leaves and nice pink flowers that bloom all summer. It was one of the most flowering plants in our rock garden the last few years. Once in the ground it makes a nice mat several feed across. A must have for any hardy cactus or succulent garden.
