The tricolour pink, cream and green leaves contrast nicely with the blue flowers. A bit slower to bulk up than the other bugleweed cultivars but well worth it. Bugleweeds are unendingly useful with their variety of evergreen foliage and lovely blue flowers. Use them as attractive groundcovers or tumbling out of containers from full sun to full shade! Ajuga, other than chamaepitys and ovalifolia, suffer from a lack of snob appeal. Don't be put off they have considerable merits not the least of which is they are unkillable, weed strangling and have rather pretty foliage; here the leaves are wine and the flowers blue. ZONE 4
