This unique selection has a weeping or pendulous habit, almost prostrate. The parent plant was grown on a raised site where it cascaded down a bank, forming a green mantle. Young plants should be staked to form a center stem from which the limbs can cascade. Spring color is light green turning to dark green for summer. In fall, Green Cascade puts on a stunning display of bright orange-red.

This is the equivalent of the dissected maples of Acer palmatum. Leaves are dissected and hang like lace on this unusual weeping tree. Needs some staking as a young tree to form a leader. The weeping effect is so strong it will sprawl across the ground otherwise. Like most Fullmoon maples A. Green Cascade' has excellent fall colors in yellow and red.

Discovered many years ago by late propagator, Art Wright. Art was our propagator for many years. We think he was a wizard because he could root magnolias and many other plants that no one else could. His is a weeping form of the fern leaf maple. Plants will get 3-4’ tall x 6’ wide. Deep green, deeply divided leaves turn brilliant yellow, orange-red. Foliage of 'Green Cascade' is like 'Aconitifolium' but more finely cut. Low growing arching shrub.
